How to enter

The Impact Awards closed for entries on 16 April 2010 - finalists will be announced on 7 May 2010

Entry criteria

  1. The Impact Awards aim to recognise and celebrate the process of transferring knowledge, expertise and intellectually linked assets beyond higher education institutions, charities and public sector research establishments for the wider benefit of the economy and society, through two-way engagement with business, the public sector, cultural and community partners.
  2. An Impact Award will be presented to the project team* that best demonstrates how it has met the entry criteria. The team must include a representative from the technology/knowledge transfer function. Project teams may include members from research, public policy or public services, spin-outs or start-ups, or collaborators from business. Please ensure that the project’s nomination has been approved by those with a vested interest.
    *The Newcomer Achiever of the Year award is an individual award.
  3. Successful entries will:
    - demonstrate how the project* achieved impact as outlined as per the award categories
    - demonstrate how the technology/knowledge transfer function was pivotal in the process
    - clearly articulate the project's* impact and attributes
    *The Newcomer of the Year award is an individual award, please ensure entries to this category comply with its entry criteria (as per the entry form).
  4. The same project may be entered into more than one award category.
  5. Applicants should submit a clear project description, not exceeding 600 words, demonstrating how their project meets the entry criteria, noting any project challenges encountered and how the project team was able to overcome them.
  6. Applicants should also clearly articulate the project's impact and attributes (not to exceed 300 words).
  7. Marketing material will not be accepted as project entries.
  8. The Impact Awards judging panel comprises leaders from the fields of science, innovation and technology.  The judges' decision will be final. 
  9. Shortlisted entries will be widely publicised from 7 May 2010. Should your entry be shortlisted, we may contact you to supply additional imagery to support your entry profile.
  10. Winners will be announced during the PraxisUnico Impact Awards ceremony, held at the PraxisUnico Nottingham Conference Gala Dinner on Wednesday evening, 16 June 2010.
