The Impact Awards for KEC Professionals replaced the PraxisUnico Impact Awards and BBSRC Activating Impact Awards.

The PraxisUnico Impact Awards, established in 2009, recognised the success of collaborative working and the process of transferring knowledge and expertise beyond higher education, charities and public sector research establishments for the wider benefit of society and the economy.

BBSRC's Activating Impact competition celebrated successful Knowledge Exchange and Commercialisation (KEC) teams making an essential contribution to delivering impact from excellent bioscience research. Past winners included Kings College London and Queen Mary London, for their innovative use of Sparking Impact funds and creation of a successful Impact Forum respectively.
